Suhayla doesn’t have to stop her story to explain who she is. She doesn’t have to explain her hijab, her family, her faith, or why her world looks the way it does.
She already knows who she is.
And so do so many of the girls reading her story.
Oh Suhayla was created so those girls can see themselves simply being girls. Funny. Curious. Imaginative. Dramatic. Adventurous. Making mistakes, asking questions, and having ordinary days that turn into unforgettable stories.
Because representation shouldn’t always come with an explanation.
Sometimes a little girl deserves to open a book, recognize herself on the page, and simply get to be the main character.
